Apparently Hillary Clinton is committed to toppling herself. In a meeting with economists, the smartest woman in the world reacted to wealth inequality the way liberals always react, by proposing we take down those at the top instead of lifting those at the bottom up.
Mrs. Clinton pointed at the top category and said the economy required a “toppling” of the wealthiest 1 percent, according to several people who were briefed on Mrs. Clinton’s policy discussions but could not discuss private conversations for attribution.
Let’s get serious for a moment. Mrs. Clinton doesn’t really mean this. She is part of the 1%. So are the people she runs with. So are the people who contribute to her campaign. She isn’t going to topple the 1% any more than she’s going to start wearing dresses. This is simply a class warfare tactic Democrat politicians have to employ to appeal to low-information Democrat voters who, after 50 years of failed policy, still believe Democrat politicians are going to pillage the wealthy and share the spoils with the underachievers. Fact is, the top 1% have done very well under Obama, and if you’re on the bottom waiting for some Democrat to come around and line your pocket with someone else’s money, well, good luck.
