I have come to watch technology advertisements with a great deal of interest, because it’s quite telling how tech companies market their products. In the past, I have made fun of Microsoft because their ads sometimes consisted of making fun of Apple without telling the consumer why he should buy from Microsoft. So congratulations to Microsoft on finally putting together an advertisement touting the Surface 3 by showing what their “tablet” can do without mentioning Apple. I’m sure it’s a fine product for those who are into Windows. But it’s still somewhat funny that they advertise the Surface 3 as the tablet that can replace your laptop when they add a keyboard and a kickstand and a USB drive and make the tablet that can replace your laptop into a laptop.
