The church in Acts 4

In Acts 4, we start seeing the early church and how the Christian church should behave. The early church was “shaken” and was filled with the Holy Spirit. They were filled with boldness. (The word “multitude” is used when describing the early church to tell of the diversity among the people.) The church is inclusive as far as ethnicity and nationality but exclusive in its doctrine of the gospel of Christ. The gospel is a global gospel because Christ died for the sins of all mankind. Thus, churches must behave like a family. (Ananias and his wife were struck dead for lying because it represents the first time disunity was introduced into the church.) The church continued to grow. Five thousand were once added in one day. They gave and they gave. When we give, we aren’t giving our money, but are giving back a portion of what belongs to God.
