Autumn in Memphis

This is Nelson Avenue (top photo), the street I typically park on when I go to football games. It is located in the Cooper-Young neighborhood in Memphis, just west of the Liberty Bowl. Cooper-Young is a quiet residential district characterized by small, older homes, inhabited, as far as I can tell, by generally younger Memphians. I could easily live here and be perfectly happy. Every once-in-a-while one will run across a dwelling in need of repair, but most of the homes are well-maintained, the small yards are neat, and the driveways are frighteningly narrow. I prefer to park here simply because I enjoy walking through the neighborhood before and after games. Even at night I feel safe.
