A friend of mine posed the following question today on his blog: “What has bipartisanship brought America that Americans actually wanted?”
I honestly cannot come up with a single answer.
I can make a list of things bipartisanship has brought us, such as the TSA, campaign finance reform, TARP, annual trillion dollar (or close to it) deficits under Obama. And that sort of proves the point.
This is why I cringe when GOP candidates like Jeb Bush say they can work with Democrats to get things done. Get what done? More bipartisanship? No thanks. Anything with the Democrats’ name on it is bound to put us at a disadvantage.
Give me lock-step partisanship, please. The conservative/libertarian variety, of course. And make America great again.
