Education secretary Betsy DeVos was blocked by Democrat protesters on Friday from entering a school in Washington, D.C.
This is almost too easy, but I’m going to point it out anyway.
It’s just like old times for the Democrats. Just as they stood in the schoolhouse door back in the 1950’s & 60’s to keep minority children out of white schools, today they stand in the schoolhouse door to keep them trapped in failing public schools.
Some things never change. It’s as though they, the Democrats, have put up imaginary signs at these urban schools that read “Colored Only,” just like they did in the Jim Crow south. Democrats are keeping segregation alive today by vehemently opposing school choice, which is why they vehemently opposed Betsy DeVos as education secretary. She supports school choice, which is good for minority children, but bad for teachers unions and the Democrat Party.
Ironically, Democrats continue to receive overwhelming support at the polls from black voters, even though Democrats do not represent the interests of minorities in any meaningful way. Democrats keep them tied to public assistance and chained to failing inner city schools.
Republicans genuinely want to break the Democrats’ stranglehold on public education and public education funds, and offer minorities a way out through voucher programs. Yet conservatives continue to be maligned as racists even though minorities would fare much better if our ideas regarding school choice were ever implemented.
